Become a netball coach

KNC Netball Coach

There are a few essential steps in the process to becoming a Netball Coach. 

1. Complete your Working with Children Check

All of our coaches MUST have a Working With Child check completed.

2. Complete Netball Coach Accreditation

Complete your Neball Australian Coaching Accreditation.

Want to be a KNC Netball Coach?

Coaches play a vital role in the sport of Netball through their interaction with athletes, support staff, parents and supporters.

Coaches provide a safe environment for players which leads to and builds on skill development, tactical awareness, teamwork and enjoyment of the game.

Requirements to become a Netball Coach

 All coaches are required to have completed a Working with Children Check (WWCC). As a volunteer, this check is free via the NSW Government website – Access Working with Children Check.

All of our Coaching & Assistant Coaching volunteers are required to complete the NSW Netball Online Foundation Coach Accreditation Course. You can find this course in the Netball Learning Portal. 

Additionally, you will be required to complete your Rules of Netball Exam and obtain a minimum of 70% pass mark. You can also find this course in the Netball Learning Portal. 

What needs to be done:

  • Working with Children Check 
  • Completion of NSW Netball Online Foundation Coach Accreditation Course
  • Pass of the Rules of Netball Online Exam

Netball Program Options

Select from the following options:

Net Set Go

5 to 9 year olds

NetSetGo is a netball program designed to get young kids involved in sport and ready for competition. Find out more about NetSetGo and what options are available for your child.

Junior Competition

10 to 17 year olds

Junior competition is for players turning 10 and up to 17 in the playing year. These age groups are graded which is usually completed end of January / early February.

Senior Competition

18+ year olds

Senior competition is for players turning 18 and over in the playing year. These age groups are graded which is usually completed end of January / Early February.
